Company overview

BotCrew builds rugged, autonomous utility robots tailored for solar farm construction. Their flagship platform, Gravion, is a low-profile, diesel-powered robot with 20+ attachment options, including spool carriers, mowers, and front loaders. Designed to work in extreme conditions (–13°F to 158°F), Gravion can handle tasks like cable pulling, trenching, grading, and material transport, reducing a 90-minute job to just 3 minutes. The company also retrofits existing vehicles like John Deere Gators with autonomy kits, enabling safe and precise work under torque tubes where humans can’t easily maneuver.

BotCrew operates on a hybrid hardware-as-a-service (HaaS) model. Gravion and autonomous Gators are available through 6–12+ month leases that include hardware, autonomy software (e.g., BotCrew Pilot app), and ongoing support. Customers can either rent complete autonomous vehicles or retrofit their own with BotCrew’s Autonomous Vehicle Kit. Software features like Speed Lock ensure constant velocity over rugged terrain, and units are equipped with 18+ depth cameras for real-time obstacle sensing. This combination of hardware, embedded autonomy, and support services enables construction firms to upgrade workflows without the capex or complexity of full in-house automation programs.
