Company overview
Doosan Bobcat delivers a broad portfolio of compact and industrial equipment, including skid-steer loaders, compact track loaders, mini-excavators, small articulated loaders, telehandlers, forklifts, and portable power equipment such as compressors, generators, and light towers. On the digital side, Bobcat offers Machine IQ—a cloud-based telematics platform that lets owners remotely monitor machine location, usage, health, and security—and the my.Bobcat owner portal and mobile apps for fleet visibility and maintenance planning. Select loader models also support Features On Demand, a software layer that enables customers to activate advanced operating capabilities such as two-speed travel, reversible fan cleaning, higher hydraulic power for demanding attachments, auto throttle, and ride-control smoothing without adding new hardware.
Bobcat’s business model combines CapEx equipment sales with optional recurring digital services. Machine IQ telematics is sold as a subscription: the Machine IQ Basics tier is typically included at no cost for the first two years on connected machines and renews at $100 per year, while the Health & Security upgrade—adding advanced fault alerts, maintenance notifications, geofencing, and enhanced security—is offered on a $200-per-year subscription. Features On Demand provides additional software-enabled revenue, allowing customers to unlock premium machine capabilities on select loader models without purchasing new hardware. Together, these digital layers position Bobcat in a hybrid model where equipment is purchased outright, but value is increasingly delivered through ongoing software and data services.
