Autonomous Vehicles

Company overview

Udelv builds autonomous, cab-less electric delivery vehicles called the Transporter, designed for multi-stop last-mile and middle-mile logistics. The vehicles combine Mobileye Drive Level-4 autonomous technology with Udelv’s own hardware stack, including the uPod, a hot-swappable modular cargo container capable of carrying up to 2,000 lbs and supporting up to 80 stops per run. Each Transporter integrates extensive perception hardware (cameras, LiDARs, radars), Mobileye’s REM mapping, a proprietary teleoperation system for remote assistance, and Udelv’s uECU, an automotive-grade central computer that coordinates vehicle and cargo robotics. The electric platform supports long-range delivery routes with DC fast charging for rapid turnaround, and the system is managed through Udelv’s cloud-based Fleet Intelligence and Management platform for routing, trip creation, order input, charging-stop planning, and real-time performance analytics.
Udelv’s commercial model centers on CapEx vehicle sales, with customers purchasing Transporters outright and integrating them into their delivery networks. But because the vehicles require ongoing access to Udelv’s cloud-based routing, scheduling, notifications, cargo-compartment control, teleoperations support, and fleet management tools, the model operates as hybrid HaaS: hardware is owned by the customer, while the recurring service layer delivers the operational intelligence that makes the system viable. The uECU and tele-operations system follow the same model, combining one-time hardware purchase with a recurring command-center service. For enterprise fleets, this blend of ownership and subscription ensures predictable operations and continuously updated autonomy and tele-ops capabilities.
